The Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of materials or components is of great importance in the sphere of structural and mechanical component analysis. The components are to be tested non-destructively to ensure a secure and long-term stable use.

The test makes it possible to detect errors in the material which, in any case, bring to the failure of components and equipment later when the final product is used, and thus, cause the downtime of the facilities and systems. The great advantage of non-destructive testing is that the components are not destroyed during testing and thus only really defective parts are sorted out and rejected.

Measuring instruments from PCE Instruments guarantee an increase in product quality and safety of your products and equipment.

  Visual Inspection

The modern visual inspection is carried out with the help of industrial endoscopes, thermal imaging cameras and microscopes. All these Visual Inspection Systems have been developed for testing in the industrial environment. Typically, these instruments are portable and equipped with appropriate software for data transmission and analysis.

  Ultrasonic testing

Application ultrasonic testing

The ultrasonic testing (UT) is one of the most widely used non-destructive testing (NDT) methods. It is an acoustic method, in which the sound waves in the frequency range between 500 kHz … 50 MHz are sent through the sound-conductive materials by means of a probe.

  Eddy-current testing (ECT)

Application for eddy current testing (ET)

Eddy-current testing (ECT) is a non-destructive testing (NDT), in which by means of a probe, a primary alternating magnetic field is generated in an electrically conductive object. The alternating magnetic field induces alternating currents in the object, which in their turn produce secondary fields, which then counteract the primary panel. Amplitude attenuation and phase shift give accurate conclusions.

  Conductivity testing

Application for Conductivity testing

The NDT of metals or metal surfaces is becoming increasingly important, either it goes about classification of metals (which metals does it go about?) or determination of suitability of the metal surface for a particular type of coating. One more type of application for testing the conductivity is detection of contaminations (solutes) on the metal surface.

   Video about "non-destructive testin"

Video about the non-destructive testing -NDT

The best known method for non-destructive testing (NDT) is the weld-examination by means of ultrasound. In addition, various methods are used for the analysis of components: optical visual inspection, eddy current testing, conductivity testing, ... For this you can watch the video above. It shows the essential test methods with practical examples on site.
