The differential pressure gauge is a pressure gauge for simple, fast and precise pressure measurement of air and non-explosive gases. Due to its design, the differential pressure gauge is suitable for the application in the measuring range from -138 to +138 mbar and, by means of a special software, for the complete display of the measurement results.
The differential pressure gauge from PCE Instruments measures differential pressure as well as relative pressure and can be switched to different units. Eleven pressure gauge units are adjustable: in H2O, psi, mbar, kPa, inHg, mmHg, ozin2, ftH2O, cmH2O, kgcm² and bar. At the resolution of 0.1 mbar, the differential pressure gauge achieves an accuracy of 0.3%.
The differential pressure gauge is delivered with four 30-centimeter-long silicone connection hoses that can be attached to the meter. Thus, the manufacturer enables the user to immediately use the differential pressure gauge. Many practical functions make the handy and mobile pressure gauge versatile and usable everywhere. The large, backlit display of the differential pressure gauge makes it possible to read-out the measurement results optimally. Depending on your needs, the backlight can be switched on and off. In this way, the user can quickly view all the data, even in the low light conditions. The dual LCD also allows a direct comparison of minimum, maximum and average values with the current measurement results. In order to be able to read-out the last measurement results again, the differential pressure gauge from PCE Instruments has a practical Data-Hold function.
A battery symbol allows the user to keep an eye on the battery status of the differential pressure gauge at all times. To protect the battery, the manufacturer has equipped the meter with an auto-power-off function. When not in use, the differential pressure gauge switches off automatically after a short time. However, this function can be turned off when needed. To ensure that the meter can also be used for long-term measurements, it is specifically equipped with a power supply. Even a zero-point adjustment is possible with the differential pressure gauge. Thus, the device can, for example, be zeroed against atmosphere, or even a measurement with offset values is possible.
The supplied software and a USB cable make a simple and complete documentation of the data possible. Pressure fluctuations, for example, can be transmitted to the computer every second due to the included software and can be displayed in a tabular and graphical form.
The differential pressure gauge is particularly suitable for the application in the measuring range from -138 to +138 mbar. As an accessory to the differential pressure gauge, PCE Instruments offers the PVC hose for pressure gauges. With a length of two meters and an inside diameter of 3.5 millimetres, the hose can be individually tailored and adapted to the personal requirements.
In addition to the differential pressure gauge, PCE Instruments offers an ISO calibration certificate for the PCE-P series to comply with DIN ISO 9000. Calibration certificates are issued specifically for customers, the annual recalibration can also be performed via PCE Instruments.

The main point about differential pressure measurement is that there is no dependence on the reference value and only the difference between pressures matters and is applied in a wide range of tasks. Of course, among the main substances the flow of which in the pipes should be measured continuously are gas and liquid (water). Application of the differential pressure meters helps to monitor, control and measure the speed of their flow and thus, the consumption. Depending on the pipe definition and which parts it consists of, the pressure inside may change many times (for example, a well-known Venturi effect). Liquid under pressure occurs not only in the pipes, but also in the containers, boilers and similar, and the differential measurement of pressures at different levels helps to find out the level of liquid in the particular container. There is a demand for this kind of meters in aviation when knowing the pressure difference helps to determine the height and speed of the flight, in firefighting as well as during assessment of the energy efficiency of the buildings, control of the ventilation and hydro systems, tightness of the systems, due to its design, for many non-destructive tests. The pressure range and sensitivity of the differential pressure sensor depends on the structure of the sensor itself. An output signal demonstrates the actual pressure difference. Thus, the differential pressure meter is one of the main tools in the regulation, monitoring and control of various technological processes. The difference in pressure may be both, positive and negative and to avoid negative consequences, for example, overconsumption of some substances, or extreme pressure drops its application should never be neglected. Application of the manometer helps to avoid miscalculations which may possibly occur because of the human factor and it saves a lot of time. There is no need to keep the measurement data in the head for later, since all the information remains in the device and can later be analyzed and viewed. The user applying the device may rely on the displayed values and adjust the device to each particular measuring task.
