The PCE-ITE 50 is a robust IoT sensor with a large 3.5" TFT color LCD display. IOT hygrometers and IOT thermo-hygrometers are able to transmit the registered data to the Internet via a network. The abbreviation IOT stands for the Internet of Things, where devices communicate directly with each other. Via the Internet of Things, large amounts of data from many sensors can be transmitted almost in real time to the other suitable devices with the IOT connection and evaluated directly by them.
The current IOT technologies already enable the transmission of data via radio waves (RFID) or electromagnetic induction (NFC) at high speed and simultaneous, definite unique authentication of the sender and receiver.
It is therefore possible to check when a device has sent or received the data. The clear identification of the devices involved and the traceability of the data transmission also qualify this technology for applications with sensitive data. For many areas of application, the possibility of the wireless transmission of the send data is also particularly practical.
The IOT hygrometers usually offer an interface to one of the frequently used wireless networks Wifi or Bluetooth for the data transmission. Instead of the term Wifi, the term WLAN is often used in Germany. WLAN stands for Wireless Local Area Network and thus for any wireless local network, while Wifi refers to a radio network that complies with the IEEE-802.11 standard. However, common WLAN routers, WLAN repeaters or WLAN sticks are compatible with the WIFI standard. Therefore, IOT hygrometers with Wifi interface can be connected to the Internet via the usual WLAN networks without any problems. It is therefore possible to access the current sensor data from a great distance without any problems.
The IOT thermo-hygrometers differ first of all in the technical specifications of the sensors used for humidity and temperature. The measuring range, resolution and measuring accuracy of the sensors must meet the requirements of the respective application. The type of the interface and the communication protocol for data transmission determines whether the IOT hygrometer can be easily integrated into the existing network structures. Besides, the type of the access to the determined data, the setting options and whether the devices can be configured are also important features. In the case of many types, for example, the limit values for warnings and recipients for e-mail messages can be specified via app or PC software.
Different options for the offline data storage and convenient data evaluation, for example by means of integrating the data into existing software, should also be taken into account when comparing the device models. Many of the IOT thermo-hygrometers are suitable both for stationary use and for the measurements at different locations. If occasionally there is no access to a network during the mobile use, there are the device models that have a display for the direct read-out and an internal memory for the later transfer of the data. When selecting the IOT thermo-hygrometers, it is important to note that there are many models available that differ in size, type of power supply and power consumption.
