The compact List-Magnetik FLUX-CHECK 250 Magnetometer / Magnetic Field Detector is a new handheld measuring device for determining the magnetic flux Phi of a magnet system or individual magnet. This innovative device offers a precise method for testing ferromagnetic materials and is ideal for material analysis and testing in various applications.
When testing a permanent magnet or a magnetic system, the decisive factors are the quality of the magnet and the strength of its magnetization. Measuring the magnetic field strength with a magnetic field measuring device is only possible at specific points and does not take into account the volume of the magnet. This task is performed by a fluxmeter with a Helmholtz coil, which enables precise and volumetric measurement of the entire magnetic field.
In combination with the List-Magnetik Helmholtz moment coil HM-1, the magnetic flux of permanent magnets can be determined very accurately, as the entire volume of the magnet is measured independently of its position. The effect of the magnet on the coil is determined in the form of an electrical voltage and converted into the flux value. In addition to the Helmholtz moment coil HM-1, all types of coils or coil probes can be connected to the device, which allows for a high degree of flexibility in ferromagnetic material testing and material analysis.
The recorded pulse curve of the flux measurement is used to determine an area which, as an integral, determines the flux value. This area is displayed graphically on the LCD touch panel with a resolution of 320x480 pixels, and the correct flux value is calculated from this. In technical terms, the FLUX-CHECK 250 Magnetometer / Magnetic Field Detector is an electronic analogue voltage integrator. The FLUX-CHECK 250 does not exhibit the drift that many Magnetometer / Magnetic Field Detectors display after being switched on, which leads to a longer waiting time until the first measurement or has to be compensated for repeatedly during the course of the measurement series. Instead, a trigger value is specified at which the measurement begins, with the previous drift value automatically taken as zero. The device is ready to measure immediately after switching on, enabling fast and reliable material testing and analysis without any time loss due to constant drift compensation. In addition to the magnetic flux Phi, further information about the coil and the measured magnet can be recorded in the Magnetometer / Magnetic Field Detector. This data can be used to calculate additional information that supports material analysis and precise material testing of permanent magnets and other magnetic systems. The number of turns in the coil (n) – this is used to calculate the "real flux". The coil constant of the Helmholtz coil, which is used to calculate the "magnetic moment".
The volume of the magnet, from which the flux density B is calculated The device supports you with a flexible measurement value memory, a combined digital and analogue display and the measurement of peak values. Thanks to the wireless Bluetooth interface, the data can be transferred to a Windows PC as well as to apps for Android and iOS. The device can be continuously connected to an external power source via the USB interface.
An SCPI interface is implemented on the fluxmeter, allowing the device to perform measurements and deliver measured values remotely in line operation. The connection is made via USB, which simultaneously ensures power supply and continuous operation.
