The NDT Test Instruments can measure material thicknesses of up to 300 mm. To ensure that the material thickness of a wide variety of homogeneous materials can be measured, it is possible to save the corresponding sound velocity in the NDT Test Instruments. For materials such as steel, aluminium, zinc, silver and gold, the appropriate sound velocities are already saved in the device library. This means that the NDT Test Instruments can be used universally.

Individual maximum and minimum values can be saved using the NDT Test Instruments's limit value function. If the measured value of the sample is outside the limits, the NDT Test Instruments signals this visually. If required, the NDT Test Instruments can also provide an acoustic signal in addition to the visual display. The NDT Test Instruments is therefore used, for example, in quality assurance and incoming goods inspection.

The NDT Test Instruments has a data memory in which the measured values can be recorded. After a measuring procedure, the saved readings can be analysed directly in the NDT Test Instruments. The saved data is displayed as a graph on the NDT Test Instruments. In addition, each individual measuring point can be approached and read in the graph of the NDT Test Instruments. To simplify the analysis of the measured values, the average, the highest and lowest measured values are displayed on the NDT Test Instruments. The NDT Test Instruments can optionally be supplied with an ISO calibration certificate.
