Car battery tester for testing 12 V starter batteries / LC Display /
starter and charging circuit measurement / robust design / easy handling
ABS, engine control, driver assistance systems: cars are now equipped with more and more electronics. This makes them even more dependent on the car battery. A powerful battery is therefore a crucial factor for a safe and reliable drive. Over the time, however, the battery may become weaker or fail completely. Therefore, to prevent a breakdown, the performance of the car battery should be checked regularly. This is particularly easy and efficient with the car battery tester from PCE Instruments.
With the user-friendly car battery tester, the batteries with a voltage of 12 volts can be comfortably and quickly tested. At the beginning of a car drive, the battery is especially stressed. In addition to the starting process, the on-board electronics also requires energy. In order to be always able to enjoy the full comfort from the beginning of the drive, the voltage of the battery should be checked at regular intervals with the help of the car battery tester. Especially in cold temperatures or when a car has not been used for a long time, the car battery tester should be applied.

The battery is optimally charged at 12.7 volts. From the charging capacity of 11.6 volts, however, it becomes critical, the battery should be charged urgently. If the car battery tester shows 10.5 volts, the battery is completely empty and must be replaced. However, the problem exists already then when the charge level is of less than 50 percent. Charging a low-capacity battery can cause long-term damage. To prevent this condition, car drivers should regularly check the charge level of the car battery using a car battery tester. In this way, with the help of the car battery tester, the battery can be charged timely enough and saved from permanent damage. To obtain a reliable result, the driver should not check the charge level immediately after the drive. In this phase, the meaningful reliable results cannot be obtained. A check by means of the car battery tester should be carried out during the rest state. Therefore, the user should do the test at the earliest two hours after the last use.
