PCE-FD 20 is a portable ultrasonic tester or ultrasonic thickness gauge with a large LCD screen that displays A-scan maps of ultrasonic signals as well as B-scan cross sections. Ideal for use in mechanical engineering, aerospace and metallurgical applications, this high-frequency ultrasound-based thickness meter uses a contact transducer (two different probes included; 45° and 90°) to measure material thickness and identify flaws and defects such as discontinuity in welds.

The Thickness Meter is a convenient measuring instrument with color display and external probe for measuring the ferrite content in austenitic and duplex steels in accordance with the Basel standard DIN EN ISO 8249 using the magnetic induction method. The Thickness Meter has a completely newly developed digital probe technology enables particularly stable measurement results thanks to the high sampling rate. For absolutely interference-free and precise measurement, the signals are already digitized in the probe, which leads to extremely accurate and reproducible results.
