With the List-Magnetik LM-MP6000-EMF EMF Gauss Meter / Tesla Meter (fluxgate magnetometer), you can measure very weak DC and AC magnetic fields in the range of 0-400 µT (microtesla) or 0-4 G (gauss) or 0-300 A/m. The device works with a fluxgate measuring probe that can measure magnetic fields in the transverse direction.
The perfect solution for the requirements of IATA953 / UN2807
A special area of application is the detection of magnetic fields in parcels or luggage without opening the luggage. IATA packaging regulation 953 contains specifications for packaging for air transport, which describes limit values and labelling requirements. UN 2807, Magnetized Substances, is a dangerous goods regulation that also covers magnetism. Items with a magnetic field strength of less than 0.159 A/m (2 mG, 200 µT) at a distance of 2.1 m (7 ft) are considered approved for air transport. Items with a magnetic field strength of less than 0.418 A/m (5.25 mG, 525 µT) at a distance of 4.6 m (15 ft) are subject to labelling requirements. More strongly magnetic items cannot be transported by air freight.
Highly sensitive sensor for weak EMF magnetic fields
A fluxgate sensor is highly sensitive and is used in research and development for the precise measurement of magnetic fields. For example, in geophysics and archaeology for the discovery of certain magnetic materials beneath the earth's surface, or in space travel and navigation for the accurate measurement of the earth's magnetic field, also suitable for measuring magnetic shielding or in building biology.
Measurement of the Earth's magnetic field and interference fields
The Gauss Meter / Tesla Meter is ideal for measuring the Earth's magnetic field and other weak magnetic low-frequency interference fields. The strength and direction of the Earth's magnetic field vary depending on the location of the measurement. In Europe, the horizontal component relative to the Earth's surface is approximately 20 mT, while the vertical component is approximately 44 mT. Weak alternating electromagnetic fields (e.g. in the vicinity of electrical appliances) can be displayed graphically by the LM-MP6000-EMF fluxgate magnetometer with indication of the measured frequency; a Fourier analysis supports the evaluation.
Scan function for visualization
In the range of stable DC fields, the scan function enables the area-wide detection of a magnetic field, which can then be statistically evaluated. This makes it ideal for magnetic field line analysis and magnetic flux measurement. This function supports detailed magnetic field analysis and expands the capabilities of modern magnetic field measuring devices and integrated magnetic field measuring systems.
Memory and interfaces
The Gauss Meter / Tesla Meter supports various areas of application in magnetic field measurement with its flexible measurement value memory, combined digital and analogue display, and peak value measurement. These features make it a versatile magnetic field measuring device for professional applications, whether as a digital EMF Gaussmeter, magnetometer or teslameter.
Thanks to the wireless interface, data can be transferred to a Windows PC as well as to apps for Android and iOS. This allows us to offer a modern solution for mobile magnetic field measurement systems. The ability to flexibly store and evaluate magnetic measurements supports complex magnetic field analyses, such as determining magnetic field strength, magnetic field intensity or measuring magnetic flux density. The device can be continuously connected to an external power source via the USB interface. In addition, an SCPI interface is implemented on the device, which allows it to perform measurements and deliver measured values remotely in line operation, an ideal prerequisite for automated magnetic field testing procedures in industrial magnetic field measurement.
Verification with calibration standard
We also offer a calibration standard (reference magnet) that you can use to check the accuracy of your Gauss Meter / Tesla Meter field measuring device at any time. An indispensable component for precise and standard-compliant magnetic field measurement solutions in laboratories, development and production. Our systems are among the most reliable magnetic field measuring devices in the UK and meet the highest standards for modern magnetic field testing procedures and magnetic measurement methods.
