The Gas Leak Detector Gasman-O2 is a unique gas meter which protects against a specific gas, inflammable or toxic. The Gas Leak Detector warns with a penetrating alarm and an optical signal (useful in case when there are loud noises in the surroundings) of the existence of dangerous gas concentrations and shows on screen the value of the gas measurement. The Gas Leak Detector fulfills all the European and international norms, even ATEX and UL standards.
A gas leak is an undesirable and sometimes dangerous problem that requires quick and efficient elimination. 
The gases present in HVAC systems, such as refrigerants, do not present a big risk, however, a leak may lead to a break or shutdown of the entire system including refrigeration or air conditioning. Humans and animals may be adversely affected by high concentrations of the systems combustible, non-combustible, and toxic gases. Propane, methane, fuel, acetone, ethanol, and benzene are among the hazardous gases that can be found within commercial and residential areas. In some cases, the leakage of harmful gases into the air can result in an explosion. An advantage of utilizing a gas leak detection device is the opportunity to quickly detect the exact leak location, even if it is not visible to the human eye or is difficult to access. Depending on the model, the detector may be equipped with a long flexible sensor for hard-to-reach locations.
For continuous monitoring of the system, the detector should be mounted appropriately and the gases to be identified must be clearly defined within the detector. Depending on the type of gas and its properties, the device may need to be placed where either rising, lighter gases or falling, heavier gases are found. The placement of the device may need to be located higher or lower on the wall depending on these properties. When gases exceed the permissible threshold, the detector immediately signals an audible alarm. The detector’s light-up display will give an indication regarding the features and concentration values of the gas leak. Different gases have individual standards and limitations which may become extremely dangerous or explosive when these limits are reached.
The detector is able to determine a gas leak even at the smallest level allowing measures to be taken before the concentration of gas can increase. One of the most convenient solutions is a multi-gas detection device which is appropriate for detecting different gas types and thus, provides a versatile application of the detector. Gas leak detectors are available in various models such as infrared devices, semiconductors, various mass spectrometer devices, and halogen gas leak detectors. These devices may be portable or permanently installed. Personal perception, such as sight or sense of smell, cannot be relied on to detect gases as not all exhibit a noticeable odor or color. Timely application of the device may be the only effective preventive measure.
