Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge PCE-FD 20
£ 4,093.00
Price excl. VAT &. delivery

PCE-FD 20 is a portable ultrasonic tester or ultrasonic thickness gauge with a large LCD screen that displays A-scan maps of ultrasonic signals as well as B-scan cross sections. Ideal for use in mechanical engineering, aerospace and metallurgical applications, this high-frequency ultrasound-based thickness meter uses a contact transducer (two different probes included; 45° and 90°) to measure material thickness and identify flaws and defects such as discontinuity in welds.

  • Operating frequency range: 1 … 10 MHz
  • Measured time interval range: 6 … 1000 microseconds (µs)
  • Sound velocity: 1000 … 9999 m/s

ISO Calibration
The coating thickness gauge works according to the magnetic inductive (ISO 2178) and the eddy current method (ISO 2360). These methods supported by the coating thickness gauge are used for the non-destructive testing of materials.

  • Measuring range: 0 … 1250 µm
  • Accuracy: ± (1% + 1 µm)
  • Resolution: 0.1 µm (<99.9 µm), 1 µm (> 100 µm)
  • Measurement data storage for up to 500 data
  • Data transfer via Wifi and USB
  • Two different probes for NFe and Fe (included)
  • incl. ISO Calibration Certificate

Numerous specialized digital probes can be connected to the Thickness Gauge. This makes applications on particularly small openings, thick coatings and hard-to-reach or small measuring points possible without any problems. The magnetic induction method allows using the Thickness Gauge measurements of paint, varnish, plastic, rubber, ceramics, galvanized coatings and galvanic coatings on steel. The eddy current method can be used to measure insulating layers such as paint, varnish, plastic or anodized coatings on non-ferrous metals.

  • Layer thickness: 2 ... 1000 µm
  • smallest resolution: 0.1 µm
  • Accuracy: ±1 % (100 ... 1000 µm)
  • Single measurement, scan measurement, duplex measurement
  • Color touch screen (320 × 480 px)
  • Data storage
  • USB and wireless
  • Spring-loaded measuring probe for small parts and complex surfaces
