DataLogger(only for model with DATA LOGGER)
TestLink SE120 for multimeter is a program for collecting data from multimeter which is connected with a PC or notebook. One may process these data with graphic or text style interface. The program is very easy to use via the graphic user interface. The users do not have to search the function within a lot of menus. The major functions are all in the main window and they are indicated with large icons.
System Required:
Windows XP/2000/NT 4.0/Vista .
Minimum Hardware Required:
900 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM ;
At least 50 MB byte hard disk space available to install TestLink software.
Recommended display resolution 800x600 with High Color(16 bit).
File | Open- Retrieve files
from the disk.
File | Save - Save the data of the active window(where the caption bar is
highlighted) to the disk.
DataLogger | Load Data - The user can load recorded data form the meter
to PC by opening the DataLogger Window.
DataLogger | Setup - The user can setup the recording interval and time label it this menu dialog box. After the setup, the user should click OK button and these data will be written to multimeter. The user have power off and power on the meter again to make these value valid before one can recording data. Because there is no real time clock in this multimeter, so the time labels are recorded relative to the start time set by the user.
DataLogger | Erase Memory - With this function, the user can clear the memory in the multimeter.
Print - Print the data of the active window(graph or list).
Printer Setup - Select printer.
View | Real-Time Data Recorder:
By opening this window, the present data form the meter will be listed in a scrolling table and a graph. These data can be stored as a file or the table can be copy to other software such as EXCEL for further analysis.
View | LCD Panel -
By opening the LCD Panel Window, the present reading value of meter
will show on this window.
View | Status -
By opening the Status Window, it will show the maximun and minimun reading value of meter. The maximun and minimun value is different from those of meter.
View | Analog -
By opening the Analog Window, it will display the reading value of meter with analog indicator. But the refresh rate is the same as the LCD window, not the same as the analog of the meter.
Option | Graph | Scale -
By Define the maximun and minimun extent of the y axis of the graph.
Record
timer program - Use it to program the start time and stop time for recording
real time data from multimeter to PC.
Output To Graph - Graphing ent tabular data .
Undo Zoom - You can zoom in the graph by pressing the left mouse button and drag the cursor to select the new extents,then release the mouse button. When you click "Undo Zoom", it will zoom out the graph to the original .
Exit:
Terminates TestLink program.
- Time
interval between each present data recording. If you want to change it, move
mouse cursor to the digit you want to change and click, then input the new
sampling rate, the change will work immediately.
Start collecting real time data .
Stop collecting real time data .
Clear the data of Real Time Tabular and Real Time
Graph.
When you have DATA LOGGER multimeter connected to PC, select DataLogger | Load Data from main menu to load recorded data from the meter and there will be a progress indicator to show the loading progress.if error occurs, just click "DataLogger" again.
After the data was loaded, the left hand side will show how many data sets were loaded and detail information for each data set (start data, start time, recording rate and record numbers).
for examples:
It will transfer first data set to graph and tabular on the right hand side every time after you load recorded data from the thermoter and you can click at any data set to change the set for graph and tabular.
You can choose a rectangle area on the graph to zoom in for detail.
The vertical dash line in the graph will match the highlight row in the tabular, when one click on an other row in the tabular, the vertical dash line will move to the corresponding position to match the time, or when you move the mouse cursor directly on the data point in the graph, the shape of the cursor will change into a "hand", click this data point will direct the highlight of row to the corresponding record.
When you select File | Open from the main menu and select a file , it will show this data in this tabular.

COLUMN
- You can adjust the width of each column. Put your mouse cursor on the
vertical line between two column in top row, then the cursor will become , click mouse
left button and hold , drag to adjust the width.
You can select "Output To Graph" from Tabular window to get this graph.
You can double click the graph to call the option dialog. In option dialog, it is allowed to customize your graph style.
And you can right click the graph(real time graph is not allowed) to call out the popup menu.
You can Zoom this graph by using mouse:
To Zoom:
1. Press the left mouse button and drag the cursor to select the new extents.
2. Release the mouse button.
To Undo the Zoom:
Click Undo
Zoom from the menu .
When you active a graph window(caption bar will be high lighted), and select the print from the menu, it will output the graph to the printer
1.I had connected multimeter to PC serial port and turned meter power on, but it still show "NO CONNECTION".
Answer: Power on the multimeter and connect it to PC before running the TestLink SE120.If this don't work, it could be that all serial port are occupied by other application, close all other application . If it still don't work. Restart your computer and run TestLink SE120 again.
2. In TABULAR window , I saved a file. Can I use EXCEL to open this file ?
Answer: When you save a file in TABULAR, the default file format is "*.txt" and you can select *.csv to save files. CSV is an EXCEL file format.You can open it in EXCEL.
3.How to uninstall TestLink ?
Answer:Uninstall TestLink by launching the Add/Remove Programs applet out of the Control Panel, highlighting the TestLink, and clicking on the Add/Remove... push button, then it will remove the TestLink folder and files from your computer.
4.Why loading data fail?
Answer:This might cause by the slow respond from some of the notebook system. Try loading on a
desk top PC.
5.How to zoom the graph?
Answer: Press the left mouse button and drag the cursor to select the new extents,then release the mouse button.
6.When I setup the real time sampling with a fast rate(eg. 1 sec), Some of the sampling might be lost.
Answer: THis might be caused by slow response time of the PC interface. change the rete to 2 seconds or more.
