A transducer is a part of a measuring chain and it transforms a physical
quantity into an electrical signal. The
transducer is important for detecting physical quantities. Normally, such quantities as temperature,
pressure,
air
humidity, sound
pressure or light,
are transformed into normalized signals (i.e. 4 ... 20 mA). The advantages of
the transformation are on one hand flexibility, because many meters support
normalised signal processing. On the other hand, measured quantities can be read
at a long distance without any loss of information. When a transducer is used,
the evaluation unit should only receive the measurement range, so electrical
quantities are calculated from electrical signals. Some types of transducer also offer
galvanic separation between both the input and output signal. You will find a
transducer for different quantities among our range of products. If you have any
